Overview:
Please join us for SPR’s intensive, in-person, 2-day Child Abuse Imaging Course. This information-packed program features engaging and interactive lectures by leading experts in the field of child abuse imaging. We will explore the latest advancements in imaging of inflicted injuries of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, musculoskeletal system, and CNS, radiological-pathological correlations, forensics, and legal aspects of child abuse. This course will also address current challenges, best practices, new imaging techniques, pros and cons of various imaging approaches, case vignettes, and hot topics and controversies as they relate to child abuse imaging. Lectures will be further punctuated by insightful Question and Answer sessions. 

Target Audience:
This program is tailored for the following professionals: Pediatric Radiologists, Adult and Pediatric Neuroradiologists, General Radiologists, Pediatricians, Child Abuse Pediatricians, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Pathologists, Nursing professionals, Social Workers, Attorneys, and Law Enforcement.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of the course, attendees should be able to: 
1) Receive comprehensive updates on best practices in child abuse imaging, as it relates to bodily, skeletal, and CNS injuries.
2) Explore various imaging approaches, protocols, and recommendations for imaging of inflicted injuries.
3) Understand the importance of radiological correlation with post-mortem imaging and forensic findings.
4) Learn about the medicolegal aspects related to testimony preparation and courtroom strategies.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund, less a $100 administrative fee, will be issued provided a written request for cancellation is received at least 30 days prior to the meeting.

The Society has contracted a discounted rate of $269/night for a Single Room or Double Room at the Hotel for Thursday, February 1 and Friday, February 2. Any room reservations outside of these dates will need to be made directly through the hotel by calling the hotel reservations line listed above.

There are a limited number of rooms at the property. The cutoff date for reservations is Monday, January 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. CDT.  Reservations may sell out prior to the cutoff date; therefore, it is recommended that you book your room now.  Reservations made after the cutoff will be based on room availability, and the group rate cannot be confirmed.   

Staying at the conference hotel helps the Society meet its contractual obligations to the hotel. Thanks for doing your part to support the SPR! 

Cancellation Policy: Hotel reservations are fully refundable up to 3 days (72 hours) in advance of arrival.

Health and Safety Measures:
As you may know, the “Public Health Emergency” (PHE) status in the U.S. was lifted by the Federal Government on May 11th, 2023. At this time there are no mask or vaccination requirements to attend the SPR 2024 Child Abuse Imaging Course. The SPR will continue to monitor CDC recommendations and will update safety measures as appropriate.

The Society is only able to provide letters of invitation to individuals that are participating in the meeting as an attendee of the educational sessions. A letter of invitation for a guest of a meeting attendee will not be provided by the Society.
