Managing Editor for the Americas

An Announcement from the SPR Board Chair, Dr. Cindy Rigsby

With a new year comes change. As we approach 2023, I am pleased to announce that the SPR Editor Search Task Force, SPR Board of Directors, and Springer have appointed Geetika Khanna, MD, MS, to serve as the Managing Editor for the Americas of our journal, Pediatric Radiology.

Dr. Khanna currently serves as a Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics at Emory University and as the Associate Division Director, Pediatric Radiology and Medical Director, Quality and Outcomes at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Khanna also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology.

In addition, she has served in various volunteer roles across many societies, including the SPR, where she currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Khanna has an extensive background in peer-reviewed publications. She served as an Assistant Editor of our journal from 2013-2020, and since then, she has served on the Editorial Board of both Pediatric Radiology and Radiographics. Dr. Khanna will work alongside the North American editorial team – Dr. Andrew Trout, Sr. Assistant Editor, Dr. Monica Epelman, Assistant Editor, and Dr. Sjirk Westra, Assistant Editor.

We are confident that Dr. Khanna will lead with innovation, taking our journal to new heights and expanding upon the foundation laid by Dr. Walter Berdon, Dr. Tom Slovis, and, most recently, Dr. Peter Strouse. Please join me in welcoming and congratulating Dr. Khanna on her new role.
