SPR Adopts a 3-Year Strategic Plan

Announcements,

We are pleased to introduce the Society for Pediatric Radiology’s
three-year strategic plan (accessible here).

This plan is the result of a strategic planning initiative that included an organizational evaluation, a review of the most recent strategic plan and related progress, surveys of the staff, leadership, and membership-at-large, targeted focus groups, and an in-person strategic planning meeting held with the Strategic Planning Working Group, comprised of the voting members of the 2024-2025 Board of Directors and the SPR staff.

The plan was officially approved by the current SPR Board of Directors in June and is anchored in the four strategic priorities listed below. The priorities define the Society’s approach to providing value to members, progressing the field, and ultimately advancing safe imaging and image-guided care for all children.

(1) Cultivate COMMUNITY and Professional Growth
(2) Support and Enhance the Pediatric Imaging PIPELINE
(3) Elevate Knowledge and EDUCATION
(4) Embrace and Optimize ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESOURCES

The priorities are not listed in order of importance.

The
SPR Board of Directors and staff are committed to implementing the plan with strategic foresight, a clear grasp of current realities, and a flexible approach. This ensures the plan stays aligned with the Society’s operations, responds to member needs, adapts to emerging opportunities in the field, and remains responsive to external developments as circumstances evolve over the next three years.

As part of this strategic evolution, the Society has introduced an updated mission statement that reflects the Society’s expanded role and commitment to its strategic priorities:

The Society for Pediatric Radiology fosters excellence in pediatric healthcare by supporting
a professional community dedicated to advancing safe imaging and image-guided care
for all children through innovation, research, and education.

In addition to the updated mission statement, for the first time, the Society will adopt a vision statement, a board-supported initiative that also evolved from the strategic planning exercise. We look forward to sharing the vision statement in the coming months.

We want to thank all who participated in this process, and extend our gratitude to Dr. Kassa Darge, who led the Strategic Planning Working Group, and Ms. Elisa Pratt, MS, CAE, CVF, CEO & Chief Strategist of , who facilitated the process, guided us, and challenged us to be innovative, while remaining member-focused and mission-driven.

We are grateful for your continued trust and support, and we look forward to building the next three years together with purpose, progress, and promise.

Sincerely,
